Celebrating Halloween

Halloween was never a big holiday in Australia but has become more popular lately with so many
ex-pats living there now, including my niece.    She so missed the holiday when she moved there but now is enjoying it with her son.   This was his first year to go trick-or-treating and they sure did it up big in the neighborhood with so many people dressing up and handing out candy.

I am going to enter this layout in two different challenges.   First at  "BITTEN BY THE BUG"
They are having a cricut word challenge and I hate that in my title.

Next is the challenge #327 at "SHOPPING OUR STASH" with the prompt Halloween and this is definitely a Halloween layout.  and I used a lot of things in my stash when I made the layout.

Here are the links and challenges

"BITTEN BY THE BUG"

CRICUT WORD CHALLENGE I chose a very general challenge theme - use any of the many Cricut words on your project.  This leaves your project choices wide open! You can do something for Halloween or another holiday, or branch out to anything your creativity can come up with!

Halloween      Happy Halloween from the Shopping Our Stash crew!!

Thanks for stopping by today to check out our latest challenge.

Today we want to see all your ghosts, ghouls, goblins, witches, pumpkins...anything Halloween related.

Carving Pumpkins

I just love getting all the Fall and Halloween inspired pictures of all the Grandkids.   These are from this last weekend of the kids in St. Louis with them carving their own pumpkins.

I used an old saved sketch from years ago and then the inspiration from  "USE YOUR STUFF"
Which I used a lot of, from 2 different collections of papers and then some scraps from my Halloween and Fall paper stash, plus from my stash of Halloween embellishments.

Here is the link to challenge #286 at  "USE YOUR STUFF"  and the challenge.

TAKE ME

When Leslie sent me this picture in a text message I knew it would be cute for a fall layout.
I had the perfect sketch waiting to use from   "THE STUDIO CHALLENGE"  because I knew I
could use little leaves around it for embellishments.

Here is the sketch and the link to the "THE STUDIO CHALLENGE"  entries for both challenges this month on Nov. 5th.

Ho Ho Ho time is getting closer

Yesterday was Christmas card making day and today started that way too.     This card is for two challenges.

"SKETCH N SCRAP"    Their sketch #3 for World Card Making Day, there is one left for the month.  It's been so fun to play along with all these sketches this month plus the regular 4 sketches they have each month, 2 cards and 2 layouts.

Next challenge is at  "4 CRAFTY CHICKS"  as soon as I saw it I thought Christmas card because I had this piece of polka dot paper sitting out from yesterday that I didn't use yet and the challenge is
Polka Dots and the paper was ready to go.

Merry Christmas in every language

I love this paper with Merry Christmas in different languages.    Ever since I made this card today the only song on my mind is 'Mele Kalikimaka'  from the scene in National Lampoon Christmas Vacation when he is day dreaming about his swimming pool in the back yard.    LOVE that movie.

I'm entering this card in two different challenges.   First off I used the sketch #345 at
"TRY STAMPIN' - OR NOT ON TUESDAY"   It was a fun sketch to use and worked great for a
horizontal fold card.    Here is the sketch

Next I'm entering this card at  "THE SISTERHOOD OF CRAFTERS"   (I just love that blog name)    Their challenge that came out today is "I See Spots"    You just have to use dots of some kind on your project and I used a double dotted paper, small embossed dots and then larger white dots.

Christmas cards have started

When a lot of groups and blogs were doing Christmas in July I was in the middle of packing for a move so now I'm trying to get my Christmas cards made one be one.    I've made two today and this is the first.    I get to enter it in two different challenges.

First I used the sketch at   "THE PAPER PLAYERS"    I love sketches for cards or layouts that have
flags and/or banners so I was excited to play along with this challenge.  You still have two days to play along.
Here is the sketch.

Next I'm playing along with the challenge at  "SHOPPING OUR STASH"   Challenge #326 is the theme 'That's Sketchy'    Make your project based on the sketch and show the sketch so the above sketch was the one I used.
Heres the working of the challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today to check out our latest challenge, our theme this week is "That's Sketchy"

We want you to base your project on a sketch, any sketch, your choice and be sure to show us in your blog post the sketch that you used!

Eating Breakfast

I got to feed Elle breakfast on this morning.  It was her first breakfast of cottage cheese and blueberries.   She wasn't sure of the texture at first but ate it all.   She is such a good eater and loves a big varieties of fruits and vegetable.     She usually doesn't get real messy like this but this breakfast was all over her face.   So of course Grandma had to take a lot of pictures.

I used Sketch #285 at   "USE YOUR STUFF"  and boy did I,  I used paper and elements from 4 different collections.    You should see the evidence on my desk now.

Here is the link to   "USE YOUR STUFF"   and the sketch.   There are still 3 days left to enter.

Life with my Radio Flyer

I finished the Oct. 15th sketch at  "STUCK ?! SKETCHES"  earlier this morning but then I had these great pictures of Elle inside Dads house in her new wagon so since I hadn't done the Oct. 1st sketch yet at   "STUCK ?! SKETCHES"  I decided to do a companion page using that sketch with these pictures.    I didn't have the same background paper but I found something similar with the same color for the background paper for this one and then all the extra patterned papers are the same I used on the first sketch.

Here is the link  to   "STUCK ?! SKETCHES"   and the sketch.

My new Radio Flyer

I was with the kids a couple of weekends ago and we went over to my Dads on Sunday, its a weekly tradition for lunch out and take him for his weekly grocery shopping.     This last time they were having an auction at the house next door and Jason saw this vintage Radio Flyer and he really wanted to get it for Elle.   Finally after over two hours of the auction they came to the wagon.   He got it for $15 and Elle LOVES it, she just sat there and let her Dad pull her around inside the house and out.

I used the October 15th sketch at  "STUCK ?! SKETCHES"  to make this layout.   I couldn't think of a good title for it so just went with out one.   But I did find this great wagon diecut in my stash and used it as my enbellishment.

Here is the link to    "STUCK ?! SKETCHES"    for the challenge and the sketch.

Petting Zoo

Along with the Pumpkin Patch we took Elle too there was a small petting zoo with small horse, sheep, donkeys, chickens.   So I got a few pictures of Elle with the animals.   Including Uncle Bruce probably breaking the rules by lifting her over the fence.
I used the October 15th sketch at   "LET'S GET SKETCHY"      A totally different design for layouts than what I've done in awhile so it was fun for working with it.

Here is the sketch

Pumpkins not just for dessert

A couple of weekends when I was visiting my daughter and my son-in-law (the cook of the family) described what he wanted to make for dinner Saturday night, to say I was skeptical would be an understatement.     But WOW it was so good.   I told all my scrappy on-line friends about it after I got home and they wanted the recipe so while I was typing it out I thought I would make a layout about it.    I'm even going to suggest to my son-in-law that he should make it again for Thanksgiving as a side dish, you can leave out the sausage and add spinach or peas or something and make it strictly vegetarian.     I have two challenges to use this for.

I had the challenge #138  at  "THE PAPER GIRL CHALLENGE"   I decided it would work for that challenge as the challenge is Pumpkin Spice and what that means to me.   Well let me tell you now I can still smell that spicy aroma of the pumpkin cooking and then the great taste.   YUM.

Here is the link to "THE PAPER GIRL CHALLENGE"

Challenge #138 - Pumpkin Spice

Hello Karrie  here again.  Happy Fall!
I am not exactly sure what the precise meaning of "pumpkin spice" is, but it seems to be a pretty mainstream fall term these days.  Is it a colour? That dark warm orange?  A flavor?
Like baking with cinnamon and cloves?   A scent? Like sitting by the woodstove breathing in your favourite hot beverage?   Show us!

My second challenge is at  "PAPER ISSUES (FRIENDS & FANS)     I used the Scrap Soup
recipe while making this layout.   It was fun to get everything to work together.   My two squares are behind the corners of my two pictures, and I have two pumpkins, a die cut and a sticker.   Then plenty of cooking related stickers for the 4 embellishments and 8 sequins around the layout.   Believe it or not the first time I've used sequins.

Halloween Ghost

I've had this big white ghost sitting on my desk for about 5 days now just calling out to me and saying "use me, use me"  so today I did.   I have two challenge that I know this card will be great for.

I saw the challenge at  "4 CRAFTY CHICKS"  and knew that the two would work perfectly together and I could use up more Halloween scraps of paper again.

Here is the link to  "4 CRAFTY CHICKS"   and the challenge

CHALLENGE #373 - USE 3 PATTERN PAPERS

Next is an always fun challenge at  "CRAFTAHOLICS R US"    It's challenge #41 Anything Goes.
So my Ghosty Halloween card will be great for it too.

Sketch #107

I just keep making Halloween cards but then I just keep finding these great sketches that let me use up my stash of Halloween embellishments.

For this card I used sketch #107 at   "SKETCH N SCRAP".     Here is the sketch.

Preview

I got to see the preview of my Granddaughter in her Halloween costume for this year while I was visiting last weekend.    She is going to be a cute little elephant, or at least that is the plan now.   She was not impressed with having the trunk hanging there on her.

I will enter this layout at   "PAPER PLAYER SKETCHES"   This week is a color challenge.
Orange, Black and Grey,   I have orange and black in the paper I used and then the grey is in the elephant costume.

Here is a link to  "PAPER PLAYER SKETCHES"  and the color example.

Total Cuteness

I might be a tad prejudiced but I think she is just the cutest ever.      The crawling has begun and in another week you won't be able to keep up with her.   But while I had the chance I did get this picture.
She had on the cutest little outfit and those ears on the hood when you pulled it up was just adorable.
She was certainly covered in hug and kisses this day while visiting her great grandfather and 4 generations together, thus the name.

I did my take on the October 15th sketch at   "Colorful Creations"   and used an old collection
Bo Bunny - Love Letters to make the layout.   Matted the picture in black, matted all the triangle patterned papers with black ink, added the date and my wood veneer title XOXOXO and viola I had my layout complete.

Here is the sketch and the link to  "COLORFUL CREATIONS".

My Weekend PL page

I had a great weekend with my daughter, SIL, granddaughter, brother and Dad this past weekend so I decided to make one full PL page about it.      Sketch #88 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME PL STYLE"  was perfect for my journaling card.

And then here is my full PL page that I used it on.

My Pumpkin

I had a great weekend with my granddaughter and family.   We took her to her first pumpkin patch and had many photo ops.   We had fun and took pumpkins home to cook with dinner that night and also to decorate.

I'm going to enter this layout in four different challenges, a sketch challenge, color challenge and two theme challenges.

I'll start with the sketch challenge.   Challenge #139 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"   It was perfect for two of the picture of me holding Elle and one of the pumpkins out in the patch.
Here is the sketch and the link is in the name above.

Next is the color palette challenge at   "THE STUDIO CHALLENGES"   it coved all the colors I used in my layout with the different patterned papers and my card stock matting plus my title color and the embellishments.   The link is in the name and here is the color Palette.

Moving right along I went to  "RUBBER BUGGY CHALLENGE BLOG"    This is challenge #4 and I have to say I'm really having fun playing along with the challenge here.   So glad I found out about it.     I love all the fall activities of festivals, pumpkin patches, apple picking.    So much fun for everyone.     Challenge #4 theme is......

Finally the challenge at   "USE YOUR STUFF"    Challenge #284  is Tis the Season for Pumpkin Spice, you could use orange, a little or a lot on your project or add a pumpkin to your project.   I have done both some pumpkins and some orange in my papers.   I really used my stuff on this, lots of paper pieces and card stock scraps for matting and some embellishments I've had for awhile and the poem that I've hoarded forever.

Challenge #284 - Tis The Season For Pumpkin Spice

Happy Halloween witch

Yes I'm still making Halloween cards and having a blast.   The bonus is I'm using up a lot of paper I've been stocking and embellishments for the season, because I have a lot.

This card is for Challenge #132 - Halloween at  "FANTABULOUS CRICUT".
The challenge is to make a project about anything Halloween.   Well this witch streaking across the moon sure says Halloween to me.

I used the Celebrate with a Flourish cartridge.   I've had this cartridge for ions and I absolutely love it.

So happy Monday and happy creating at "FANTABULOUS CRICUT"

EEK

I've been making a lot of Halloween cards and fall layouts lately so I've been weeding through all these seasonal papers and embellishments for a couple of weeks now at least.   I have a couple of challenges I will enter this card into.   First when I saw the new sketch #179 at   "FEELING SKETCHY" this morning I immediately knew what embellishments I had for the perfect card to go with the sketch.   Then I found this starry paper, used it for my background and inked all the edges in black to make it a little more night like and added my cobweb, sentiment and some 3D spiders and viola another Halloween card made.   I love this season and I love using up what I've been collecting over the years.

Here is the sketch and the link to the challenge #179 at   "FEELING SKETCHY"  You have 12 days left from today to enter this challenge.

The second challenge I am going to enter my card in is  "THE PAPER PLAYERS"  Challenge #PP366 is Clean and simple Spooky.     This card is basically black and white with a spot of purple so I consider it pretty clean and simple and the Spooky part has to be the cobwebs, thats spooky when you get caught in there with all the spiders.     Here is the link to "THE PAPER PLAYERS"  for all the details.

A Fall card

Today is card making day and I started off with the Fall card using the "TIC-TAC-TOE" Challenge.
Then I'm also playing along with the "RUBBER BUGGY CHALLENGE"

This was challenge 19 and there is a new Tic-Tac-Toe challenge every week.

Here is the board to play with.   I did the right hand vertical row.   Geometric shapes, layers and Autumn.    It was hard to decide which row to use, so many ways to go.   I think I'm next going to write a note inside and send it to my Dad.   I was with him yesterday but I still think he would like to get happy mail.

Play along here every week at  "TIC-TAC-TOE CHALLENGE"

The challenge #4 at  "THE RUBBER BUGGY"   is   Fall/Autumn and/or Halloween.      So my Fall card is perfect for this challenge.    Plus you can enter as many projects as you like.

8 months old

I can't believe my youngest grandchild is growing so fast.   Why can't babies stay little for a couple of years and hold them the whole time and then learn to walk at two years.   That would be my choice.

This layout is for my reveal for Sketch #98 at "THE MEMORY NEST"   I hope you are all playing along.   Only two more reveals until we get to #100 and a $25 Gift Card for the winner from all entries in Sept. Oct and Nov.

Here is the sketch and I hope you play along with it at   "THE MEMORY NEST"

Love this baby girl

I took a bunch of pictures of Elle a couple of weeks ago when they were all here with us at the lake for the weekend.   She is just growing way to fast.    That is why I used the number paper with this layout, just showing how the weeks and months are flying by.    She turned 8 months old a week later.

Since I used the number paper I am entering this layout at   "COLORFUL CREATIONS"
The Oct. 1st challenge is called 'By the Numbers'

Next I used the sketch challenge #3 at "THE RUBBER BUGGY"  to make my layout.       It was perfect for two pictures.    The problem was I had to pick just two from probably the 10 I took of Elle sitting there.

Here are the links and info............

"COLORFUL CREATIONS"

By The Numbers

Hey all, welcome to our first challenge of the Fall!  For this challenge we want you to create a project using numbers! It can be in the form of your papers, titles, photos, whatever, let your imagination be your guide!

Autumn Boat Ride

I used the Fall Mood Board at  "CHALLENGE YOURSELF"  in mind while I made this layout.
I know the picture doesn't look like fall but this was taken Sunday when we had a beautiful 85 degree day here at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.   We can have nice days in October here in Missouri but very rare for it to be in the 80's and we had two days in a row  and then suppose to be 84 again on Friday.   Hopefully another boat ride day.   Have to take advantage of them all we can while its nice out.    But even though the picture doesn't scream Fall I wanted to use fall colors and title and embellishments.

Here is the link to this challenge #46 at "CHALLENGE YOURSELF"  and  the Mood Board for your inspiration.   Obviously I went with the fall colors and then sprinkled leaf stickers around the layout to go with the leaves in the mood board.    As always you have to have a picture of yourself on your layout and for a change I have a picture of just me.
